At Dinnington High School, History is an exciting subject which develops a real understanding of the past using a variety of teaching techniques. It is a subject which is highly regarded throughout the school and produces students who are able to analyse, work independently and show success.

There are many reasons why our students study history, as it is a fantastic combination of all other subjects and shows our students how the world has evolved. Our staff in the History department are skilled in the art of making students become intellectually curious and express their own opinions.

Many of our students find that history is a form of time travel and they are able to be transported to a period of history that is new and exciting. For many of our students History becomes a passion and they go onto study History at university and in many cases become intrigued by a particular period of history and research this in detail.
