English Language and Literature provide our students at Dinnington High School with adventures to faraway places and mysterious dwellings.

Capturing imagination is a challenge, however staff in our English Department take on this challenge daily and succeed. English in Dinnington High School tests our students to seek new experiences and opportunities to create and use their imagination. English provides an opportunity for students use different skills and to think in different ways.

In English, students are encouraged to develop an interest and enjoyment in the study of English Language and Literature, fostering its value in lifelong learning. They will develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures. This broadens both the intellectual, social and emotional development of all our students. English is a demanding and necessary subject where students are expected to do well.
