Chemistry is a rewarding but demanding subject to study at all key stages. It complements many subjects in school and provides necessary knowledge for students who aspire to have a career in health care and the medical professions. However we encourage all our students to develop intellectual curiosity and our chemistry teachers enjoy demonstrating the wide variety of real world connections to the subject of chemistry.

At Dinnington High School we want our students to be passionate about chemistry, highly motivated and extremely hard working. Students who work hard in chemistry also develop their numeracy, literacy, independent learning and revision skills which are all essential skills for any effective student. Dinnington High School chemistry takes a look at a wide range of chemical reactions and explores a number of exciting experiments that are performed in the classroom. Chemistry offers our students an opportunity to engage with science at a practical level; they will get to experience first-hand chemical reactions and develop a love and interest in the sciences.
