Pastoral – Achieve Team

Knowing our students well is something we all pride ourselves on at Dinnington High School. By getting to know each child as a whole person, we can support them to achieve their best and to become a well-rounded individual.

We are frequently complimented on our warm and welcoming culture across our school. This is important to us as we uphold our core values: The Dinnington Way: kindness, respect and excellence.

Our pastoral support is provided through our Achieve Team. To meet the team, click here: Who’s who in Achieve.

Pastoral - Achieve Structure

Students are organised by year groups with a form tutor and two year leaders. Form tutors are parents’ first point of contact. We provide parents with an email address for their child’s tutor as they are often not available on the phone during the school day as they are teaching. You can leave a message for them with reception and they will seek to return your call within 48 hours.

We have two year leaders for each year group. One is a support member of staff whose sole responsibility is the year group, the other one is a teaching member of staff who also has teaching commitments. See the Who’s Who for each year group.

Form time and assembly are vital parts of our school day. They are important for ensuring we have an inclusive, family approach. They also provide opportunities to explore important issues, have special visitors, to celebrate special occasions and events, to have form reading time, and to have the weekly challenge of The Quiz.

Our Head of Achieve works closely with the Head of Engage to ensure we identify any undiagnosed SEND.

We seek to reward students for their excellence in a range of ways: Rewards Information.
