Extra Curricular

At Dinnington High School there are many ways for Sixth Form students to gain valuable skills and experience outside the classroom as well as within it, such as being on the Sixth Form Prom committee or becoming a Student Ambassador. The Sixth Form provides fantastic opportunities to broaden and enrich the academic experiences of our students. Our aim is to ensure students develop into well-rounded individuals and are given access to a range of opportunities which will broaden their skill base and enhance their own personal development.

Our sixth formers, under normal circumstances, also get a wide variety of opportunities to go on trips and visits:

  • Sports Tour (every two years to countries such as South Africa, Canada, USA)
  • Field trips with geography
  • Art & photography trips to places ranging from London and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to the coast and Sheffield
  • University visits & summer schools
  • Duke of Edinburgh scheme
  • Work-related visits such as local hospitals, local businesses etc
  • Work experience linked to their studies
  • Subject specific trips & visits as opportunities arise
  • Careers fairs
